Hydrate Power Pack: Exploring Gender Identity Challenges in Kids Ministry

As children’s ministry leaders we are sometimes confronted with challenges and opportunities that we don’t feel fully equipped to effectively handle. Culture is constantly shifting . . .  ignoring controversial subjects and hoping they will go away will not help us produce resilient disciples. In the information age, there are plenty of voices who are more than willing to talk with our kids and their parents if we don't.

AG Kidmin is excited to partner with ReStory Ministries to assist children’s ministry leaders in how to address gender dysphoria within their churches. In this two-part interview, Linda Seiler and Joe Dallas from ReStory are interviewed by National Children’s Ministries Director Kelly Presson and National Children's Ministries Discipleship Project & Event Manager Jen Whalen as they address such questions as:

  1. How should we respond in today’s culture where being transgender is trendy and even celebrated?
  2. How can we help kids who are experiencing same-gender dysphoria or sex attraction?
  3. What are some ways that we can help parents when their child reveals they are exploring or questioning their gender/sexuality?
  4. How should we handle requests to use pronouns that don’t match with the God-given gender of our children?
